A project for 5th graders (2006)

Via an internet webquest, to be found on the school-website, the children found out many different facts about (the history of) their own family names. For the questions to be answered they had a pre-designed form in 'word'.

After this introduction into the history of names and genealogy the class visited the Regional Archives in Alkmaar where all old documentation of their own community is being stored.

The children were led on a tour through the collection and were then able to find (more or less independently) data on their own ancestors and make copies of these.
