One sunny morning Sarah and Thomas are harvesting the rice. They both carry a knife. After a while a pot appears before them. They watch it when suddenly the pot starts to turn and twist. A pillar of smoke rises out of the pot and changes into a jinnee. It tells them they can make six wihes.

Their first wish is for the ghost to harvest the rice. The jinnee then takes Thomas’sknife and begins. When he is ready they wish him to water the flowers in their garden. That, too, the jinnee does. He floats to the well to get water. Then he puts the water in a watering-pot and goes by the whole garden.

After he is finished Thomas and Sarah have three wishes left. The next one is for the jinnee to do the laundry and to hang the clothes to dry. Because of the burning sun, the laundry dries fast. When the jinnee returns to Thomas and Sarah they immediately wish him to paint the inside of their house. That, too, the jinnee does effortlessly but neatly.

Now the children have just one wish left. They think real hard about it. But after a while they know a wonderful wish. They wish…, they wish… a DOG!!!!! En there it is: a beautiful young German sheperd. In the evening they enjoy their lovely rice and their painted home, the beautiful flowers and their freshly washed clothes. But most of all they enjoy the company of the dog! (And they call him Woof!)

DEETHE AND CHICA AND THE ONE-EYED GHOST

Two children, Deethe and Chica, are gathering grain. Deethe dug too deep and found an old pot. A ghost appeared and asked: “Do you have a wish?” Yes, of course! Deethe and Chica said the ghost should do all the work. And so he did. He gathered the grain, watered the plants. And he cooked and did the laundry. And painted the wall. But he also fed the dog.

JOHN, THE GHOST AND HIS WIFE

John and his wife were enjoying weeding their garden. Suddenly John found a pot that seemed over 5000 years old. His wife thought of the Aladdin story right away and rubbed the pot. And, to her great surprise, a ghost appeared which said in a high but heavy voice: “I am the ghost of John’s brother. I have heard you can use some help and therefore you can make three wishes.” John fainted and fell with his head in the sand. His wife, too, almost fainted but said: “Yes, that is true, but can I make my wishes now?” The ghost answered: “Certainly, but use them well, you only have three.” “Okay”, said the wife, “well, first of all I would like you to help with the gardening and the housekeeping.” The ghost said: “As you wish.” John, who in the meantime had recovered his senses, was worried about his wife. “Are you allright, dearest? Hasn’t that ghost hurt you?” The wife answered: “No, he’s only helping us with our work around the house. And by the way, I didn’t know you had a brother. You never told me.” “No, that’s right. We were never so close” John answered. In the meantime the ghost was already hanging up the laundry. Every day he poured a cup of coffee for John and his wife. The ghost never complained. And he was always glad and excited to do another odd job. That’s why John and his wife thereafter lived on happily.

FRIENDLY GENII

Once upon a time there lived a farmer Gopal, with his wife Ganga in a village named Rampur.

One day, while working in the field they saw a pot on the field. It was a very dirty pot so they decided to clean the pot. As they picked the pot in their hands and rubbed the pot, at once some smoke came out of the pot and a small Geni came out of the pot.

The Geni asked Gopal how can he help him. Gopal told him to help him and his wife in their daily work. So Geni started working like  harvesting field, drawing water from the well, watering plants, washing clothes, painting the walls of the house and lastly take the dog Romi for the walk.
